A Frog Thought To Be Extinct Has Been Rediscovered In Australia

Australia is a country full of some of the most exotic and rare animals in the world. Now excited scientists have proven that a frog, formerly thought extinct, is well and prospering in Australia.

The yellow spotted bell frog was thought to once have been extinct since the mid 1970s when its environment was mostly wrecked by farming. However Fisheries field scientist Luke Pearce found an entire community of the creatures in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales. The precise site of the community is being kept under wraps to give protection to the frogs. NSW Environment Minister Frank Sartor expounded the finding was as heavy as discovering the Tasmanian tiger. This discovery is evidence of the necessity to protect this environment so generations to come can enjoy the noise and color of our local animals.

The frogs were first spotted in 2008 but confirmation was wanted to identify the species as the yellow spotted bell frog, that confirmation has come thru and the scientists are happy. There are now intends to breed the frogs in prison for release into the wild and further strengthening their numbers.
